  • Rob Murray

Head Coach Murray is a 1992 graduate of Weston High School (Weston, MA) where he earned multiple All-Star selections in both baseball and football. He attended Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY) where he played four years of baseball for ABCA Hall of Fame coach George Valesente. During his college career, Coach Murray appeared in three NCAA DIV III New York Regionals (1993, 1994 and 1995) and two DIV III World Series (1993 and 1994). Coach Murray received NCAA NY Regional Tournament & All-League Honors, was named team captain and MVP during his senior season. Following his college career, Coach Murray signed professional contracts with the Richmond Roosters (Frontier League) and the Bangor Blue Ox (Northeast League). During the summer Coach Murray is head coach of the Southeast Region in the Bay State Games, where his teams won the Gold Medal in 2015 and the Bronze Medal in 2014, and is also head coach of the Nokona 18U College Commit Team. Coach Murray holds the title of Associate Scout (Northeast Region) for the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball team and is the Assistant Athletic Director and an assistant football coach at Noble and Greenough School (Dedham, MA).

15U Nokona Chiefs

  • Mike Lyon

Coach Lyon is a graduate of King Philip High School in Wrentham, MA, and a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He played four seasons at shortstop for Northeastern from 2004-2008. He was drafted in the 24th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Yankees as a third baseman. He played two full seasons in the minor leagues from 2008-2010, and was an All-Star third baseman in 2008 for the Staten Island Yankees. He is currently in his seventh season as a coach, clinician and instructor with Nokona Baseball.

  • Eric Rodriguez

Coach Rodriguez is a 2007 graduate of Burlington High School, Burlington, MA, where he was a three-year varsity starter. He went on to play his college baseball at UMass/Dartmouth where he was a catcher and graduated with a degree in Marketing in 2011. He has spent the last six seasons coaching baseball in the New England area—and with great success: In 2014, his 14U team finished their season with an amazing 51-9 record and captured a bronze medal at the USA Baseball 14U Cup in Cary, NC. Eric has also guided his teams to EBL Championships at the 14U, 15U, and 18U age group levels in 2012, 2014 & 2015. He has seen many of his players go on to play in college at the Division I, II, and III levels—some of whom are playing in the most prestigious summer leagues in the country today. He joined the Nokona program in 2015. "Nokona Baseball is pleased to announce the addition of Eric Rodriquez to its staff. Eric is an extremely talented coach, communicator and teacher, and we are very excited to have him join us", said Nokona Baseball Founder Geoff Cuneo. Coach Rodriguez is employed at Oracle Corporation in Burlington, MA. He and his wife currently reside in Salem, NH.

  • Dan Sullivan

Coach Sullivan is a 2002 graduate of Ashland High School, Ashland, MA where he was a Tri Valley League and MetroWest All-Star as a RHP and SS. He was a team captain and was named a member of the 2000 state championship team. He went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut (2007) with a BA in History. Since graduating from UConn, Coach Sullivan has coached nine years of high school baseball (seven in Ashland, MA and two in Hopkinton, MA) and nine years of high school football (four in Ashland and five in Hopkinton). He also has nine years of AAU head coaching experience. Coach Sullivan has served as the manager of Ashland Legion baseball for the past five years, leading Post 77 to two sectional championship appearances. He has worked at various baseball facilities in the Metro West area as both a hitting and pitching instructor. Coach Sullivan prides himself on being both a lifelong student and engaging teacher of the game of baseball; he is currently in his seventh season with Nokona Baseball as a coach, clinician and instructor.

10U Nokona Chiefs

  • Jack Ambrose

Head Coach Jack Ambrose, a full-time instructor and coach to the Nokona staff, is a former standout collegiate player at Western Kentucky and later Northern Kentucky. Coach Ambrose has been instructing and coaching at various levels for the past six years, including high school, travel baseball and the Lou Tompkins All-Star Baseball League. Now in his third year with the Nokona Baseball program, he adds in-depth knowledge and insight to hitting, pitching and fielding instruction and coaching programs.

17U Nokona Chiefs Prospects

Head Coach Jason Hoye

Coach Hoye joined the Nokona Baseball program for the 2018 season where he lead the 15U Chiefs team. Jason is head baseball coach at Natick High School (Natick, MA), a position he has held since 2014. He has also coached baseball at Holliston High School (Holliston, MA) and Catholic Memorial High School (West Roxbury, MA). After graduating from Catholic Memorial in 1996, Coach Hoye played baseball at Wheaton College (Norton, MA), where he was a two-year captain and two-time All New England selection. After graduating from Wheaton, he spent six months in Germany playing and instructing for the Bayer Wuppertal Stingrays. He has also competed in the European Championships for team Ireland in 2006 and 2008, winning a silver medal in 2006. Coach Hoye is a Health and Wellness teacher at Natick High School and also coaches football for the Natick Redhawks. He lives in Medway, MA with his wife Angela, and two daughters, Grace and Ayla.

Assistant Coach Brady Furdon

Coach Furdon also joined the Nokona staff in 2018, working with the 15U Chiefs team with Coach Hoye. Coach Furdon is from Natick, MA and played baseball at Natick High School where he was a two-time Bay State Conference All Star, and also served as captain for both the baseball and golf teams. He also lettered in track, where he threw the shot put. Before graduating from Wheaton College (Norton, MA), Coach Furdon was senior captain of the baseball team, and a starting pitcher. In 2017 he pitched in the D-III World Series where Wheaton won the Mid-Atlantic regional tournament on their way to the championship series in Wisconsin. As he entered his senior year at Wheaton, he had amassed 28 games started, going 16-5 with 184 innings pitched, and a career 3.39 ERA. Coach Furdon brings outstanding leadership and a relentless work ethic to the Nokona staff. He plans to take the civil service exam in pursue a career as a firefighter.

15U Nokona Braves

  • Keith Wasserboehr

Coach Wasserboehr is a 2006 graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Reading MA, a 2016 graduate from Tufts University with a degree in Clinical Psychology and a 2018 graduate from William James with a Masters in Psychology. At Tufts, Coach Wasserboehr was the first recipient of the ROTC/Veterans Scholarship, presented to a veteran who is an exemplary student. He was also an active member in Tufts’ REAL Program (Resumed Education for Adult Learners.) His efforts in advocating for veterans at Tufts University directly contributed to four future veteran Jumbos starting Fall ’16. Keith is a five-year veteran of the United States Navy. He was stationed on Whidbey Island, WA as an aviation mechanic. Coach Wasserboehr did two tours of duty overseas in Bahrain and Qatar directly supporting OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom), OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and OND (Operation New Dawn). During his last deployment, he was in direct support of the last P-3 flight operation conducted for OIF. Coach Wasserboehr played both baseball and football while attending high school and during his time in the United States Navy. Keith has been a head coach for Nokona Baseball for the last three years and has been coaching baseball with his brother, Brett, for the last six years. Coach Wasserboehr is an avid learner and researcher in the field of psychology, and is currently enrolled in William James in hopes of obtaining a Doctorate Degree in Psychology. He, his wife Tanya and his son Harvey currently reside in Billerica, MA.

  • Justin O'Brien

Coach O'Brien is a 2004 graduate of King Phillip High School and three-year varsity starter. Following high school, he attended Springfield College (Springfield, MA) from 2004-2008, graduating with a degree in Physical Education. Coach O'Brien was a hard throwing RHP and a four-year starting pitcher for NCAA Div. III Springfield Pride. He is a teacher in the Plainville (MA) Public School System. Coach O'Brien is currently in his seventh season as a coach and has been working as a pitching instructor for the Nokona Baseball program for the past nine years.

Assistant Coach Scott Soderberg will work with Coach Sullivan on the team's development. He is a graduate of Framingham State University, Framingham, MA, and has been a teacher for 25 years in the Ashland, MA school system. He has coached American Legion Baseball with Milford MA, Marlboro MA, and for the past 19 years with Ashland High School. He led Maynard High School (Maynard MA) to four straight league titles, two sectional finals and one sectional title. He coached the 11U Nokona Chiefs team to titles in tournaments in Delaware and New Hampshire, and led them to the Elite Baseball League title in 2013. Coach Soderberg is an avid historian of baseball in America, its influence on society, and its positive impact on the development of skills and leadership qualities in young athletes.

14U Nokona Chiefs

  • Gerry Carroll

Coach Carroll is a 1981 graduate of Holliston High School, Holliston, MA where he lettered in football, hockey and baseball. He attended Providence College from 1982-1986 where he graduated with a BS in Management. He lettered in baseball during all four years with The Friars, and was named Most Valuable Player during his senior season. He also was named to the All-District NCAA Baseball Team, the All-ECAC Division I Team, and the Big East First Team. Coach Carroll is currently in his sixth season as a coach, clinician and instructor for Nokona Baseball. Beyond his duties as coach, he also is a managing partner in Nokona Baseball.

  • Brandon Anderson

Coach Anderson is a 2003 graduate of Wayland High School (Wayland, MA), where he excelled in both football and baseball. Following his senior season, he was drafted in the 41st round by the Colorado Rockies. After high school, Coach Anderson played two years of JUCO ball at Rowan College in Gloucester County where he was on the 2005 NJCAA National Championship team, earning All-Region honors twice. After Rowan, he transfered to Georgia College & State University where he was named a NCAA/ABCA All-American and a two-time Southeast All-Region selection. Following college, he played six years of professional baseball in the Frontier League. After pro ball, he decided to jump into the coaching ranks where he made stops at Concord-Carlisle High School (Concord, MA), Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) and is currently an assistant varsity coach at Noble and Greenough School (Dedham, MA). For the past three years Coach Anderson has also worked as a lead instructor and coach at the Winning Pitchers Academy in Framingham, MA. He will be available as a full-time instructor.

11U Nokona Chiefs

  • Jeff Paulsen

Head Coach Paulsen is a 2003 Graduate of Framingham High School (Framingham, MA) where he was a four-year starter as pitcher and OF. During his high school baseball he was a two-time BayState First Team All-Star. In college, he was a walk-on at Georgia Southern University (Statesboro, GA) in 2004, then transferred to Franklin Pierce College (Rindge, NH) and played from 2005 to 2007 with a team that made it to the College World Series. Coach Paulsen played two summers in the NECBL as a member of the Keene Swamp Bats. As a coach, he has served as an assistant coach within the Nokona Baseball program from 2009 to 2011 (AAU 10U-11U), coached both Bombers squads from 2011 to 2013 (AAUv 12U-13U), coached the BayState Braves from 2013 to 2015 (AAU 12U-13U), coached the Lincoln-Sudbury Lou Tompkins A Division in 2014, coached the Lincoln-Sudbury Senior Babe Ruth 2015 champions, and has worked as a pitching and hitting instructor. Assistant Coach Jack Ambrose will assist Coach Paulsen in developing talent among the 10U Chiefs players in 2019.
