In 1919, The Daily News was founded as the first tabloid newspaper in the United States. It was later known as the Illustrated Daily News. Today, The Daily News covers New York City, and has local bureaus in Brooklyn and the Bronx. There are also several sports and opinion sections.
One of the most well-known features of the newspaper is its photo gallery, which includes prominent photographs of sports and entertainment events. The Daily News has won a number of journalism awards, including a Pulitzer Prize for public service in 2017.

Formerly a data reporter at Louisville Public Media and the Reuters News Service, Suhail has been working at THE CITY since 2010. He is responsible for a number of areas, including data reporting, social media and communications, and is the paper’s data reporter.
Another staff member at The CITY is Jonathan, who covers the Bronx. He previously worked for the NY Post and The New York Times. His reporting has been published by The Chronicle of Higher Education and Documented NY. Claudia also covers the Bronx for THE CITY, and has been honored with the Sidney Hillman Foundation Award for social justice reporting.
Other reporters at THE CITY are Diana, who is the paper’s development and operations associate; Clifford Ross, who works as the membership manager; and Suhail, who is the paper’s data reporter. These reporters and the rest of the team work together to promote the paper and bring in new readers.
Although the New York Daily News has had its share of problems, its mission remains to cover the people and places of New York City. With its emphasis on bold presentation and investigative journalism, the paper has become one of the most popular in the United States. By 2016, it had a circulation of over 200,000.
