Entertaiment is anything that entertains and delights a viewer or audience. According to Oliver and Barstsch (2010) entertainment is understood objectively, encompasses communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires the existence of an audience and occurs in a passive form.
It is often based on themes such as backstabbing, murder and other social themes that the brain was evolved to react deeply to, in order to function well in a world of other humans.
